Libertarians in Hardy County expanded their visibility with an outreach booth at the Wardensville Fall Festival over the weekend of October 10 and 11.
It was a beautiful weekend and scores of Hardy and Hampshire County residents stopped by the LP booth. Of greatest interest were the clipboards soliciting signatures on two petitions to state legislators: one in favor of reforming marijuana laws to allow cannabis for medical purposes; the other urging early, re-passage of the concealed carry bill that the Governor vetoed last spring (and overriding his veto if necessary). Thanks to John Buckley for staffing the booth and to Hardy County LP coordinator Tonya Persinger, who stopped by with husband, Matt, and their two kids. The number of registered “Libertarian” voters in Hardy County is now up to 12! For a small, rural county, that’s good growth.
